A Secret Safe Place for You

I know a secret safe place always available to you. When you feel guilty or sad, when you feel alone, no matter what is going on for you, there is a refuge for you in the arms of Jesus. His Spirit will encircle you.

You can embrace the risen Christ right now. You can rest in his arms of love. It only takes a few minutes. Quiet your soul… Open your heart…

My Psalm 32 Breath Prayer will help. Breathe in: “Jesus…”  Breathe out: “You are my Safe Place…”  Breathe in: “Selah…” Breathe out: “I’m still in your grace…”

The Lord Jesus Christ covers you with his wings!  In love, he sings over you and you can join along!

“Safe Place” is a series of eight Breath Prayers inspired by Psalm 32:5-7.  Each line is seven syllables because seven is God’s number of perfection.  Pray it in secret to Jesus, your Safe Place, and he will perfect you in God’s love.

Safe Place

Jesus… you are my Safe Place…
Selah… I’m still in your grace…
Jesus… from sin set me free…
Selah… I cling to Mercy…
Jesus… your wings cover me…
Selah… you sing over me…
Jesus… in you I am blessed…
Selah… I smile in your rest…

Pray “Safe Place” in community (replacing “my” with “our” and “I” with “we”) for Jesus to perfect everyone together in God’s love. Memorize a favorite couplet (two lines) and breathe the prayers in and out throughout the day to practice God’s presence with everyone you meet.

Every day people visit SoulShepherding.org to learn how to use Breath Prayers to help them be at peace in Christ even when under stress. This is not a New Age practice, it’s an ancient form of Christian prayer. There are many Bible-based Breath Prayers that I use and share with others to cultivate intimacy with Christ.

More Breath Prayers

To pray a short verse or paraphrase of Scripture as a Breath Prayer is refreshing and empowering. It helps you learn to practice God’s presence all day and stay in tune with the peace of Christ. I’ve selected key verses of Scripture and developed step-by-step instructions for meditation, breathing rhythms, and prayer in “Breath Prayer Guides.”
