Ned serves with Soul Shepherding providing spiritual direction, sabbatical coaching, chaplaincy support, and ministry with a focus on member care to missionaries serving cross-culturally. He serves as the Director of Member Health for World Gospel Mission and has traveled to 34 countries as well as having served cross-culturally in Mexico and Ecuador. Over the past 40 years, Ned has pastored churches in Ohio and Michigan, served as a hospital chaplain as well as a missionary, and is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church.
He has an M.A. in Ministerial Education from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a Board-Certified Chaplain, with specialties in Crisis Incident Stress Management and Stress Debriefing. Ned is currently a Senior Spiritual Director with a certificate from the Soul Shepherding Institute’s program in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care Ministry.
He was drawn to Soul Shepherding when the desire to be better equipped to speak into the lives of missionaries merged with a lot of loss and grief in his own life, leaving him feeling distant and disconnected from intimacy with Jesus. The journey to be better equipped for ministry led him to pursue God’s leading to become a spiritual director and learn to minister out of the reservoir of God’s fullness. Drs. Bill and Kristi Gaultiere impacted and influenced his journey to spiritual renewal and equipping for effective ministry to pastors, missionaries, and leaders.
Ned and his wife Marlene live in Marion, IN, and are the proud parents of three adult children and two grandchildren. Ned has a heart for leaning into Jesus and helping others experience the fullness of Christ in their daily lives.
