Vincent Carpenter, Sr., serves as a Spiritual Director with Soul Shepherding. He is passionate about encouraging others on their journey with God. Attending Soul Shepherding retreats and utilizing their resources helped Vincent recognize the impact, stress, and fatigue ministry was having on him. He discovered how rest, reflection, and silence helped restore his spiritual vitality. He also found receiving spiritual direction was a life-giving source of encouragement that strengthened his vision for ministry. 

Since 2005, Vincent has served on the pastoral staff of Antioch Community Church in Waco, Texas, where he is currently the Director of Pastoral Care, serves on the teaching team, and leads Kingdom Culture, an initiative providing a biblical approach to navigating racial and cultural issues. 

Vincent has worked at Baylor University as a public relations writer, student services coordinator, and academic advisor. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Baylor in 1989, while also lettering in football and track, followed by a master’s degree in journalism in 2000 and a Master of Divinity degree from Truett Seminary in 2005. Vincent has also served as an adjunct faculty member at both Baylor University and McLennan Community College in Waco. 

Vincent and his wife have been blessed with five wonderful children and two delightful grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising and reading.
