The Cross and the Kingdom

Listen to Bill give the message:

Jesus Christ’s death on the cross provides not only our forgiveness of sins but also our eternal living in the Kingdom of the Heavens. The Bible text for this sermon is Luke’s account of Jesus’ death on the cross (Luke 23:26-49).

If it wasn’t for the way Jesus died on the cross for our sins then it would’ve been pointless. Look at the way Jesus died, loving his enemies even while he was suffering so terribly. How did he do this?

Jesus “for the joy that was set before him endured the cross” (Hebrews 12:2). But what was this joy? Where was it? Understanding this helps us to take up our cross and follow Jesus. One example of this to abandon outcomes to God.

This message was given at Crossway Church in Santa Ana, CA on 3/17/2013.

More Soul Shepherding

Jesus’ lifetime of spiritual training and trust in God his Father is what enabled him to bleed out his love for us and for all people, even his enemies. The ancient Stations of the Cross use Gospel passages to bring us the passion of the Christ, the forgiveness of our sins and new life in his name.

I invite you to join me in this blessed crosswalk. It’ll shape you to be more peaceful, loving, and powerful like Jesus himself. It’ll show you how you can live your daily life with Jesus in the Kingdom of God.

It’s here in my 68-page booklet, Unforsaken: With Jesus on the Stations of the Cross.
