Mitzi Brautigam serves with Soul Shepherding as a Spiritual Director.  She received her certificate in Spiritual Direction from Soul Shepherding. Mitzi has a strong liturgical church background, was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship for over 15 years, has led numerous women’s Bible and Christian book study groups, currently serves on an inner healing ministry team at an evangelical church, and participates actively in spiritual formation groups that focus on attachment theory.  Mitzi is a ferocious reader of Christian classics – both traditional and contemporary (Willard, Smith, Hudson, Nouwen, Teresa of Avila, etc.).  With an education in psychology, she has a lifelong interest in listening and helping people heal and grow. 

Mitzi enjoys both giving and receiving Spiritual Direction, finding it extremely helpful in her spiritual growth and healing from childhood traumas.  She particularly enjoys ancient contemplative prayer practices such as breath prayers, lectio divina, Ignatian meditation, centering prayer, and other spiritual disciplines.  Mitzi loves to listen to the sacred stories of others and help them recognize the presence of the Trinity in their lives, always turning towards them, delighting in them, and welcoming them into their presence. 

Mitzi spends summers in Alaska (her home) and winters in Arizona. She is married (38+ years), has two grown children, and has two amazing grandchildren. She greatly enjoys traveling and going for long walks in nature, experiencing her five senses as she enjoys the beauty of God’s kingdom.
