Kim serves with Soul Shepherding as a Spiritual Director and Coach. Her academic training focused on music. She has been certified in lay counseling through Anew Day ministries, and has received her certification as a Spiritual Director and Coach through Soul Shepherding. Her most transformative training came through 32 years of experience on staff at Twin Cities Church in Grass Valley, CA, serving in music ministry, pastoral ministries and teaching alongside her husband who served as lead pastor. Kim’s work as a caregiver (focused on the elderly) and as a piano teacher (focused on the young) has also had an impact on how she relates to the individual with grace and understanding.

Kim appreciates the gift of a life adventure that keeps getting better! After years invested in church ministry – so vital in introducing others to Christ’s love – Kim attended the Soul Shepherding Institute, feeling worn and ragged. There she recognized her need for a deepening transformation of her soul through contemplative work with Christ. The relief she found from anxiety and striving to “be enough” was so profound that it has become pure privilege to companion with others who are also glimpsing the freedom to become all God intends them to be, unburdened by old hurts and hangups.

Kim’s journey includes being a mom to two amazing people, one biological and one adopted. Another formative season for Kim was the painful (victorious!) journey through esophageal cancer with her husband. Since retiring from church ministry, Kim is leading spiritual formation groups, meeting with individuals interested in going deeper with Christ, caring for the needs of elderly parents, and traveling. Her favorite destination these days is to the home of her two grandkids!
