John serves as a Sr. Spiritual Director and Sabbatical Coach with Soul Shepherding. He has served as pastor of two churches, one for 4 years and one for 24 years. He is currently pastoring his 25th year at his present church.  ​

At a low time in his life and ministry, John and his wife, Lorrie, found Soul Shepherding online. In a TLC (To Love Christ) session at a retreat in California in 2015, John shared his story of trauma with Bill, Kristi, and his cohort. This experience marked the beginning of his several-year journey of healing. John now considers himself a healed wounded healer with a passion to see pastors use their own pain of trauma as fuel for better lives.​

John has a B.A. in Communications, M.Div., and D.Min in Leadership Through Preaching. He and his wife reside in a Milwaukee suburb and are parents to 4 adult children.
