Sharon serves with Soul Shepherding as a Sr. Spiritual Director. She is an ordained minister who serves as the Associate Pastor (Music and Spiritual Formation) at Mars Hill Baptist Church in rural Western North Carolina. She has served churches throughout North Carolina, Kentucky and Alabama for over 45 years. Sharon and her husband, Bill, serve as Co-Directors of the non-profit, The Lord’s Harvest, which is a food insecurity ministry providing staple and fresh foods to those who are hungry in Madison County, North Carolina. She has completed her training Soul Shepherding Institute and Spiritual Direction certificate training.
Sharon began seeking spiritual renewal after struggling with burnout and ministry related stress. Believing that many of God’s children are struggling with burnout, she considers it pure joy to walk alongside those who seek to know the Lord as their “Abba”. She creates a safe space for those who feel as though they are drowning under the weight of stress; especially those who have difficulty finding the joy of the Lord. Through the guidance of Holy Spirit, she delights in working with those who desire to authentically engage with the Lord while learning to care for their own souls.
She and her husband, Bill, live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina where they offer a bed and breakfast devoted to Spiritual Direction and Soul Care. They have three adult children, eight beautiful grandchildren, five grandpups, and one grandkitty. She finds great delight in God’s beautiful creation.
