Come Alive With Psalms of Lament

May 6, 2015
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Wednesday)

Thirst!

A Spiritual Formation Gathering

Led by Bill & Kristi Gaultiere

Few Christians or churches today make much use of the Lament Psalms in the Bible. We’ve lost a great treasure! We’re missing out on divine life where we need it most!

Most of the psalms in the Bible are laments. This is for a good reason. We all experience stress, injustice, and pain in our lives and need help. The Lament Psalms show us how to complain and pray, how to express raw emotion and praise God. Ironically, the sad psalms inspire us to be happy in God!

We’ll guide you in using a quiet space for your soul to reflect on your life and to pray Psalm 3, the model lament in the Psalter. During the conversational teaching time you can ask questions, share your experience, or remain silent. You’ll be strengthened to be a greater blessing to the people in your life.

Thirst! is free and open to you and your friends. (Donations to “Soul Shepherding” are appreciated.) There’s no need to RSVP — you can just show up. We usually have a group of 15 to 20 people.

Next Meetings of Thirst!

We meet semi-monthly on Wednesdays, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Our next scheduled meeting is June 3.
